Tuscan Montelupo Vase with Putto Cherub Angel Playing a Trumpet
A cherub, or putto in Italian, plays a heavenly trumpet on this vase. Whether in Rosso’s, Fiorentino’s, or Raphael’s works, cherubs were a favorite subject of the Renaissance artists. The Tuscan artisans of Tuscia were inspired to create this lovely vase. This Tuscan vase is approximately 12″ in height.
