Deruta Galletto Red 10″ Scalloped Scodella Bowl
This ceramic pasta bowl, much like a deep-dished plate, is traditionally used for single servings of pasta or soup. It was handcrafted and painted by the artists in the traditional fashion. The Galletto pattern is a modified version ceramics that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home.
The Galletto Red Scalloped Pasta Bowl is approximately 10″ in diameter.
