Deruta Galletto Blue Pitcher
Dine al fresco with this wonderful traditional Italian pitcher. This ceramic pitcher was handcrafted and painted by the artists Ceramiche Sberna of Deruta, Italy. The Galletto pattern is a modified version of ceramics that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home.
This pitcher is 6″ in height and 5″ at its widest point. Measurements are approximate.
