Deruta Galletto Blue 7″ Large Cachepot Planter
This Italian ceramic flower pot was handcrafted and painted by the artisans in Deruta, Italy. The Galletto pattern is a modified version of a pattern that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. This piece was handcrafted and painted by artisans Sberna in Deruta, Italy.The main image shows the planter from the front. This planter does not have a hole for drainage as it can be used as a cachepot.
