Ceramiche di Sicilia 12.5” Vase with Orange Harvest
Wrapping around this vase is a scene of a wholly Italian tradition, the orange harvest, or La raccolta dell’arance. Happy people gather oranges from trees, those famous Sicilian oranges that taste so good and are so beautiful. This vase was hand painted by Ceramiche di Sicilia of Baucina, a small town outside Palermo, Sicily, Italy. This line was originally the work of famed artisan Giovanni De Simone, who created vibrant Italian ceramics that were inspired by Picasso and evoked the culture of Sicily. Indeed, life springs forth from every angle of this vibrant and joyous piece of Italian pottery, like the traditionally decorated cart pulled by a smiling donkey.
This vase is 12″ in height, and 10″ across its thickest point. Its opening is 4″ in diameter. Measurements are approximate.
